Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 25, 2026 · Effective: May 25, 2026
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account.
- Business information: company name, business address, license or certification numbers, and other professional details you choose to provide.
- Payment information: when you subscribe or are paid by clients, payment details are processed by our payment partners (Apple, Google, and Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
- Inspection content: property addresses, inspection notes, photos, signatures, reports, invoices, and any other content you create in the App.
- Communications: messages you send to our support team and feedback you submit.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and basic usage events used to operate and improve the App.
- Location: with your permission, your approximate or precise location to tag inspections, find nearby properties, and pre-fill addresses. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
- Photos and camera: with your permission, photos you capture or select for inspection reports.
- Microphone and speech: with your permission, the microphone captures spoken inspection notes for live transcription to text. We do not record or save audio files. The audio stream is passed directly to your device’s system speech recognition service — provided by Apple on iOS or Google on Android (see Section 5) — and only the resulting transcribed text is stored in your inspection notes.
- Calendar: with your permission, read and write access to add inspection appointments to your device calendar.
- Diagnostics: crash logs and basic performance metrics to help us fix bugs.
Information we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect biometric data, advertising identifiers, or health information. The App does not use third-party advertising SDKs and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- Create and manage your account and authenticate your sign-in.
- Process subscriptions, payments, and payouts.
- Generate, store, and deliver inspection reports and invoices on your behalf.
- Send transactional messages (receipts, password resets, subscription notices).
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, and technical issues.
- Improve the Service, including debugging and product analytics on aggregated, non-identifying data.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your personal data are:
- Contract — to provide the Service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to secure, improve, and support the Service, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — for permissions you grant (location, camera, microphone, photos, calendar). You can withdraw consent at any time in your device settings.
- Legal obligation — for tax, accounting, and other compliance.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:
- With service providers who process data on our behalf (see Section 5).
- With your clients or recipients when you send them a report, invoice, or other document through the Service.
- For legal reasons if required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- In a business transfer — if InspectrPlus is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change of ownership.
5. Third-party service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to operate the Service. Each is bound by contract to protect your data and to use it only to provide services to us.
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Privacy policy.
- Stripe — payment processing, subscription management, and payouts to inspectors. Privacy policy.
- Apple — App Store distribution, in-app subscriptions, push notifications via APNs, and (on iOS) the system speech-recognition service used for live voice dictation. Privacy policy.
- Google — Google Play distribution, in-app subscriptions, push notifications via FCM, and (on Android) the system speech-recognition service used for live voice dictation. Privacy policy.
- Google Places (Android only) — address autocomplete when you type a property address. The address text you type is sent to Google to return matching suggestions; we do not send your device location to Google Places. Privacy policy.
- Sentry (Android only) — crash and error reporting. Reports include stack traces, device model, OS version, and limited app state; we configure Sentry to scrub personally identifying information from reports where possible. Privacy policy.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes. Backups containing your data may persist for up to 90 days before being overwritten.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your data (see Account deletion).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Port your data to another service.
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting past lawful processing).
- Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@inspectrplus.app.
8. Account deletion
You can delete your account two ways:
- In the App: Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- On the web: visit inspectrplus.app/delete-account.
Deletion removes your profile, inspection records you own, photos, and associated data. Some records (for example, completed transactions and tax-relevant invoices) may be retained as required by law.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), encryption at rest, hashed passwords, scoped database access policies, and least-privilege access controls for our staff. No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
10. International transfers
Our servers and service providers may be located in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) to safeguard international transfers of personal data.
11. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for use by professional property inspectors and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us with personal data.
12. California privacy rights
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise your rights, email privacy@inspectrplus.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you through the App or by email and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
